It is a time for celebration in North America!  While the United States failed to elect a female president, the 2024 election of Claudia Scheinbaum as President of Mexico is the beginning of a new era for women leaders.  This achievement is underscored by the fact that more than 70 countries have elected women to lead their nations. I have written about some of their journeys from childhood to leader of her nation; She Will Lead Herstory: World Leaders.  Every leader showed her skills and talents early and had others around them who helped them become who they were meant to be.   

While we make up half the world, Girls and women continue to fight to have their voices heard and influence how we live and contribute to the building of our nations. But we can change that by teaching leadership behaviors to girls. We know that ages 10-14 are particularly vulnerable for girls, and that their self-esteem decreases, so I am starting there.  I want to challenge stereotypes and show them that leadership is possible and within their reach. As a leadership coach, I know that if we want to change a situation, we need to change what we are doing. I firmly believe that helping girls learn and understand the behaviors of leadership will bring more women into the positions where they can change the world.
